Q&A: How do I get green tea stains off white mugs ?
Question by : How do I get green tea stains off white mugs ?
I gave up caffeine last year & started to drink decaff green tea instead. But it stains my white mugs, so heavy scouring will only partly clean them ?
Is there a trick that doesn’t involve nuclear fuel or hydrolcloric acid, to get these mugs clean ?

Bleach or Mr. Clean sponge, which is tiny abrasive sponge.

Buy the cheapest denture tablets that you can find. Drop one in each cup and let it sit until the liquid turns white. Works for regular tea stains, should work for green tea also. Some mugs stain worse than others though.
Try rubbing the baking soda directly on the stain. Put it on a damp cloth, apply elbow grease and it should take the stains off. If that doesn’t work, you can fill the cup with water and add a teaspoon full of bleach. But that can be hard on fine china. You could also try Fantastic or some of the spot removers. They’re pretty powerful.or Try getting a water filter put in through which you can add a water softening agent. You could always use dishwasher powder and I’m not being smart. Use small amounts of water with the powder to form a paste and then scrub with a sponge or scrubber.
