Does milk in green tea really cancel out the good benefits of green tea? How about sugar?
Question by Stacys Mom: Does milk in green tea really cancel out the good benefits of green tea? How about sugar?
I herd somewhere that milk in your green tea actually reduces the health benefits. Is that true? And what about adding sugar and cinnamon? Is that ok?
Since I herd the milk thing, I’ve only put 3 teaspoons of sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon in it, is that fine?

The tea would have no benefits or adverse effects as far as diabetes is concerned. There are all sorts of green/white tea mixtures that sometimes include plants with chemicals that might be toxic or have medicinal value if used in large enough quantities, but for the most part the only effect is enjoying the taste of the tea.

I like Oolong tea. Its a cross between black and green, and unlike either of those, it can be steeped for very long times, and even reused. The flavors change with multiple uses.
